
About Derrick Spicer
Derrick is a long-term resident of Jefferson City. He attended Belair Elementary School and graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1991. In 1994 he married his wife, Jodi and they have two children, Brittany and Dylan. In 2001, Derrick graduated from Law Enforcement Training Institute, University of Missouri - Columbia. Derrick is the Director of Softball Operations at Lincoln University. He is currently employed with PMI Hotel Management Group working with the public as a Sales Director for the Fairfield Inn and Courtyard by Marriott. Derrick is also employed part-time with the Missouri Office of Athletics as a Chief Inspector.
Derrick is in his third year of the Jefferson City Council. He is currently Vice-Chair of Administration, he is on the Public Works Committee and was chair of Public Safety. He has decided to not continue as a councilman effective April 2025 so he can focus on his senate race. He will have completed two terms.
Derrick is heavily involved in his community. He has donated auction items, equipment and volunteered his time for the Boys and Girls Club, Building Community Bridges and the Special Learning Center to name a few. He is also active in the Ozzie Smith Foundation which donates to multiple charities every year. Derrick is a member of the AEC and the Sons of the American Legion.
He is looking forward to being your next State Senator for District 6.
